As the year comes to a close, we are taking a moment to ✨reflect✨. In this Q&A session, we will shed some light on what we have learned in 2023 and our hopes for the future. We also think these are good reflections no matter what time of the year. It doesn’t have to be the end of an era where we look in the mirror and reflect, it can be any day, week or month that you find yourself wanting a little more.
We hope that you might ask yourself these same questions and let this be the beginning of a new chapter, a new story, and the journey of many Golden Hour Experiences ahead!
Q&A with Keri + Nicole
Q: As 2023 comes to a close, how are you feeling?
A: Honestly, we are exhausted, but also very optimistic. We feel content, while eagerly anticipating the excitement that this new year holds. We are ready to take what happened in 2023, learn from those experiences, and grow to experience more ‘Golden Hours.’
Q: What was the hardest lesson you learned this year?
A: Ah, the tough lessons! We have embraced the imperfect journey of pursuing our goals and visions. To be honest, there have been many imperfections along the way. But, WOW! Out of those, we have gained the most insightful lessons on how to navigate our own paths.
This year, we both said yes to some business coaching and learned that feeling stuck is just a mindset. We learned that there is always a small step forward waiting to be taken. It is up to us to take that step and change the narrative. No one can do that part for you. After all, progress is a collection of those small steps, right? Life is not an escalator, but a series of steps that can go in all sorts of directions.
We also believe that the relationships we keep, both personally and professionally, can shape and influence who we are. So, choose wisely. You know that old saying your parents used to say all the time? “Show me your friends and I will show you your future” or “You are who you hang out with.” Well, we believe that who you surround yourself with can have a huge impact on your mindset and your steps.
Q: What felt like your biggest win?
A: Here's a simple one – not taking a leap off a bridge! (Just kidding.) The real win…?
The birth of Design Immersion!
This is a shared dream that has unfolded beautifully. We are deeply grateful for our incredible support team – their presence is an absolute honor. From the beginning of this journey, we recognized the risks, but wholeheartedly believed in the power of our idea. Every decision has been sincere and heart-driven and it is this authenticity that has attracted the remarkable lineup of individuals involved, both in the forefront and behind the scenes. Our passion for what we are doing is what keeps us saying yes and moving forward with our vision. We feel so fortunate to have brought some amazing souls on board to help us bring this vision to life. All of this happened because we said yes and kept going.
Q: What are you most excited about for 2024?
A: Certainly, Design Immersion takes the spotlight! Yet, the thrill of consciously challenging our ideas, exploring new ways to run our business, and the connections forged in that process are equally exhilarating. In fact, making new connections and friendships in the future is the most exciting part of it all!
Q: Any words of wisdom you would give “2023” you?
A: Decide that 2024 is the year to go ALL IN. Embrace saying both YES and NO fearlessly. Rediscover the Golden Hour Experience of finding balance, joy, and that driving passion deep within your soul – it's truly transformative. Follow that excitement, let it be your true north in both business and life. Life is too short not to. You truly have the power to decide how you will respond to failure, success, and everything in between, so own that power.
